Frequently asked questions

What is NAUMX3?

NAUMX3 is a DIY filament color mixing system that allows users to combine up to 3 different filaments and create custom filament colors for 3D printing.

How does it work?

The system feeds multiple filaments into a heated mixing chamber where they are blended together in user-defined ratios. The final output is a brand-new filament color ready to use in your 3D printer.

How many filaments can be mixed at the same time?

NAUMX3 supports mixing up to 3 filaments simultaneously. (for now) 🙂

Does it work with my 3D printer?

NAUMX3 is designed to work with virtually any standard FDM 3D printer using common filament sizes such as 1.75mm.

Do I need a special printer?

No.
The filament produced by NAUMX3 can be used with the 3D printer you already own. 250x250x250 mm

What filament materials are supported?

The system is designed for common FDM materials including:

PLA
PETG...

Testing different materials and brands may require calibration adjustments.

Is this a fully assembled product?

NAUMX3 is primarily a DIY project designed for makers and creators.

Backers receive:

3D printable files
assembly documentation
firmware
parts lists
and selected hardware depending on the reward tier depend what you will order.
Fully assembled product also can be ordered

What electronics are used?

NAUMX3 is based on widely available open-source hardware including:

Arduino Mega 2560
RAMPS 1.4
DRV8825 drivers
standard 3D printer components

Is the software included?

Yes.
The project includes firmware and supports many free and open-source color mixing tools for PC and mobile devices.

Will replacement parts be easy to find?

Yes.
Most components are standard 3D printer and electronics parts available worldwide.
